Kate Marietto is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC). She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Education from Gettysburg College, and received a Masters in Mental Health and Wellness from New York University.
Kate has experience in inpatient and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. Most of her experience comes from working in an in-patient psychiatric hospital. This experience has involved working with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, self-harming behavior, low self-esteem, social concerns, chronic mental health diagnoses, and a range of other issues.
Kate strives to create a safe environment for her clients to express themselves. Her person-centered approach allows for the therapeutic relationship to strengthen and she feels that the client is a collaborator in this process. Kate implements evidence-based practices that fit the needs of the client and helps them move toward achieving their therapeutic goals. She also values mindfulness which helps her clients gain awareness of their thoughts and feelings and how to approach them as they come up in the moment. Kate encourages clients to bring their creative sides into the therapeutic space and sees the value of using music and art as a means of self expression.
